Snowball Fights, Ski Lifts & Swiss Cheese

We can’t believe the snow! A very unexpected surprise—makes me want to come back in ski season!

It’s snowing in Gstaad, Switzerland! My last full day here included some very rare May weather, complete a snowball fight, ski lift ride for a special dinner on the mountain top and some tasty Swiss hot chocolate.

The entrance to the cheese cave is a little hidden treasure situated in the beautiful hillside.

An inspiring day of company meetings was followed by a trip to a cheese cave. There are 30 TONS of cheese in this cave only found in Switzerland we got to sample. The cheese is made with only four natural ingredients and what seems like a wax casing is actually the natural milk fat coating.

You have to climb down a step set of stairs into the cave to see the 30 tons of local cheese.

All in all a very special day to end our trip. My mom must be en route to Italy by now and I can’t wait to meet her for the next leg of my journey (and some warmer weather)!

Each cheese is aged on average 2-3 years, some up to 7—these wheels are very heavy!
